It has definitely been a long journey! I am however grateful and humble to start the next chapter in my career in Internal Medicine! I am thankful and forever in debt for my family and loved ones who鈥檚 helped and supported me along the way. I thank the AUA family for preparing me for this rewarding career. My childhood dream is finally here!

Srikant Sivaraman MD

Vascular Surgeon
Parkview Medical Center

“AUA helped pave the way for my success. It set high standards, and ensured that students met rigorous challenges head on. Through a comprehensive network of clinical sites, students are afforded the opportunity to work with a plethora of specialists, and build an invaluable fund of knowledge. The critical thinking, and skills, that my time at AUA helped me to develop, continue to aid me in my care of patients to this day.鈥

Srikant Sivaraman, is a board certified General, and Vascular Surgeon. He graduated from AUA in 2012. He completed his General Surgery training at the University to Maryland, and Vascular Surgery training at Wayne State University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a Fellow of the Society of Vascular Surgery. He is passionate about Vascular Surgery, and Trauma.

I wholeheartedly encourage all AUA students to persevere and maintain their diligent efforts, as there is undoubtedly a promising future awaiting them at the end of this challenging journey. Additionally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to AUA for granting me the invaluable opportunity to embark on this transformative path.

BRANDEN IREIFEJ MD

Rheumatology Fellow
University of Southern California

I would not be where I am today without the support of AUA and their professors. The foundation I developed in Antigua for thinking critically has shaped me for who I am today. I am forever grateful for the experiences AUA has taught me, and will always carry it with me during my medical career.

Ahmed Abd El Aziz MD

Emergency Medicine Resident
Broward Health

AUA was instrumental in helping me achieve my goals, they cared about the students performing well and pushed us to be the best version of our selves, the faculty understood our pathway to success and helped guide us in right direction.

Jasmine Marcelin MD

Program Director
University of Nebraska

Why I Chose AUA:

“I chose the American University of Antigua because I felt I could trust their leadership. Going into my undergraduate studies, it was difficult to find an advisor that cared about my goal to becoming a Physician. Dr. Peter Bell and President Neal Simon took the time to sit down and personally speak to me about their program. It was clear to me from then on that the faculty cultivated at AUA truly supported their students and provided the care they need to succeed. I am truly thankful for AUA for allowing me to pursue my dream.”

Ehsan Esmaeili MD

Hand Surgery Specialist
Boca Raton Hospital

My Experience at AUA:

“As a Caribbean graduate, I was always told by others that surgery was not an option when I was going through AUA, but with hard work and the guidance of the faculty and staff, it was proven not true. I appreciate AUA for giving me the opportunity to become a hand surgeon. I recommend and strongly suggest for any potential students out there to give AUA a consideration for your future.”

Jessica Thomas MD

Clinical Instructor
USC Medical Center

Why I Chose AUA:

“I have always wanted to be a physician from day one. AUA saw that drive and they took a chance on me. The opportunity that they gave me was once in a life time and I am so grateful for it. I also really appreciated was AUA has done with their Physician Diversity grants and minority programs. It was important to me to be at a school that wanted to diversify medicine, and help underserved communities.”

Radbeh Torabi MD

Plastic Surgery Fellow
Mass General Hospital

Why I Chose AUA:

“I chose AUA because they saw me as more than just a test score. They cared about my passion to pursue a career in medicine and become a thoughtful and caring physician. We started very early on with patient interaction. Talking to patients, doing examinations, and interacting with them were all things books couldn’t teach me that really prepared me for success in my residency.”

Brenda Mai MD

PGY-2
University of Texas

My Experience at AUA:

Graduating from UC Davis at 19 years old, Dr. Brenda Mai began applying to different medical schools in California but unfortunately wasn’t accepted into any. Unfortunately, her age was a concern as she would be 19 years old and schools felt she would be below the curb and lack the maturity to attend medical school. AUA accepted her based on her motivation and enthusiasm to be a doctor, as it was clear she wanted to be a physician but didn’t quite meet U.S. requirements to get into those programs. Dr. Mai is currently in the clinical pathology program in the University of Texas in Houston.

Katherine Pelts MD

Pediatrician Doctor
Comprehensive Pediatrics

Why I Chose AUA:

“I chose AUA for my medical education because it was a place that gave people an opportunity to accomplish their educational goals. We had classes with great professors/doctors who were passionate about teaching us the basic information required for us to be able to to advance into clinical practice. The educators were approachable and were willing to spend extra time explaining information at time of need for further clarification. As we transitioned to clinical medicine back in the United States, there was a vast variety of clinical sites that we were able to do our clinical rotations in. The administration was helpful in scheduling the rotations and would always try to accommodate our preferences for the rotations. I am grateful to AUA for teaching me what I needed in order to be a practicing pediatrician today.”

Vincent Gallo MD

Vascular Radiologist
Staten Island University

Why I Chose AUA:

“I chose to attend the 澳门赛马会 as it allowed me the best opportunity to become a physician. I was intrigued by the curriculum that mirrored an American medical school but was within the setting of a beautiful Caribbean Island. I was capable of coming back home to New York to perform my clinical rotations which eventually gave me the opportunity to match into a New York City based residency program.”

Bilal Khan MD

Critical Care Physician
Bayonne Medical Center

Why I Chose AUA:

“I was confident going into AUA because of their leadership. It was clear to me from the beginning that the staff and administration were pioneers and leaders in medical education. They showed a great deal of commitment by investing in constructing a brand new state of the art campus while I was there. Although the new campus opened shortly after I left the island, it was encouraging to watch its construction. It let us know that AUA was committed to investing back into its students, and here to stay for years to come.”

Tani Malhotra MD

Clinical Fellow
MetroHealth Medical Center

Why I Chose AUA:

“AUA was the most feasible option for me as it allowed me to be in a family friendly culture that I was familiar with. The coursework I did at AUA prepared me really well for my clinical rotations in the United States. In fact, I felt like I came into my residency much more prepared than most of my peers. They made sure we stayed on top on everything we needed to know.”

Alexander Austin MD

Family Physician
Intercoastal Medical

My Experience at AUA:

“In high school, I participated in a program that involved shadowing doctors, and I wanted something with that full scope, that full knowledge, where I’m doing everything or at least have exposure to everything and AUA had exactly that. At AUA, I had the opportunity to study with a dynamic group of students and professors from around the world.”

Our campus

澳门赛马会鈥檚 campus has dozens of opportunities for our students to expand their medical education beyond the confines of their lectures and textbooks.
