AUA graduates aren’t just eligible to practice in the United States. They can practice in the United Kingdom and other countries. Read on for more information.

International Recognitions

  • American Heart Association

    AUA is an international training center for the American Heart Association.

  • UK鈥檚 General Medical Council (GMC)

    The General Medical Council (GMC) helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. The GMC supports them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards, and take action when they are not met.

    Based on a review of AUA鈥檚 curriculum by UK鈥檚 General Medical Council (GMC), any doctor awarded a primary medical qualification from AUA will be able to apply to sit the PLAB test and for GMC registration, without having their qualification individually assessed. Read more at .

  • American Medical Student Association Alliance Member (AMSA)

    AUA is an AMSA Alliance member. AMSA uses creative ways to connect relevant organizations and businesses with AMSA members and provide a helpful exchange of services, resources or products that will help medical and premedical students succeed. AMSA offers paths to explore creative partnerships between Alliance members, students and leaders.

  • Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH)

    AUA is a member of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH). As a CUGH member, AUA can participate in global health-themed conferences, workshops, and webinars, and access CUGH鈥檚 online information hub of materials for educational and program development. CUGH is dedicated to increasing the availability of adequate healthcare and reducing health disparities by bringing together universities in resource-rich countries with universities in resource-poor countries. CUGH was established in 2008 with generous funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and The Rockefeller Foundation to help fulfill the vision of the university as a transforming force in global health

  • National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT)

    AUA鈥檚 Emergency Medicine Training Center (EMTC) is an official NAEMT Training Center. As such, it joins NAEMT at the forefront of national discussions and initiatives that significantly impact the EMS field. The NAEMT sets the global standard for EMS evidence-based, field-tested, continuing education that emphasizes critical thinking skills to obtain the best outcomes for patients. We are proud to work hand in hand with the NAEMT on initiatives that seek to improve the delivery of emergency services around the world.

  • Residency Organizations

    Graduates and 4th year medical students are eligible to participate in the聽. Canadian citizens are eligible to participate in聽

  • United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI)

    UNAI was established in 2010 by Secretary-General Ban-Ki Moon. The aim of this initiative is to align institutions of higher education with the United Nations to further the realization of the purposes and mandate of the organization through activities and research in a shared culture of intellectual social responsibility. As a member, AUA has been active in the UN75 UNAI initiative.
